Over in the Oakridge Estates area of Simi Valley, a preschool aide walked out to her 2015 Touareg one morning and got nothing from push-to-start. No crank, no dash greeting, just a blank stare from the instrument cluster. The fob was dead, not the battery. The module inside the KR55WK45022 had quit.

I got there in about 30 minutes. Plugged the IM608 into the OBD port under the dash and started the VW online security login. The Touareg runs IMMO5 with Megamos AES, so programming has to pass through VW's server. While the system processed, I cut the HU162T emergency blade and prepped the new fob housing.
Server access cleared. I wrote the new transponder to the Kessy module (7P6 959 754), then tested every function: push-to-start, remote lock, remote unlock, trunk release. Walked the perimeter and checked passive entry on both front doors.
She was inside greeting kids about 15 minutes late instead of not at all. The whole job, diagnosis to final test, ran about 40 minutes at her car. A dealer would have meant a tow, a loaner, and days of waiting for a parts order on a fob they have to program through the same server I just used in her parking lot.
