2004 Chevrolet Impala
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2004 Chevrolet Impala Metal Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I was already near Downtown El Cajon when the call came in. Guy in a parking structure off Main, 9pm, one key, now gone. He had checked his pockets twice, walked the route back to the entrance, looked under the seat through the window. Nothing.

He was ready to call a tow because he figured a locksmith meant a long wait and a big bill. I told him to hold off.

First thing I asked for was the VIN. He did not know what that was. I told him to look at the base of the windshield, driver's side, near the dash. Took him about ten seconds. Then I asked him to open his insurance app for registration. He had it.

With the VIN confirmed, I already knew what I was dealing with before I left. The 2004 Impala runs a mechanical key, so I cut the blade to his vehicle's code and showed up ready to verify the cut against his door lock. No guesswork, no surprises under the parking structure lights.

The key turned on the first try. He sat there for a second before starting it, like he was waiting for something to go wrong. It did not.

He drove home that night. The dealer was closed, and even if they were not, they would have needed the car dropped off and picked up the next day. Getting me the VIN before I arrived is what made the whole thing clean and fast.
