1995 Honda Civic Metal Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Downtown IB on a Friday night has its own pace. Tacos, people walking the strip, and occasionally somebody standing next to a 1995 Civic looking confused.
A family had come out of a taqueria near the main stretch to find they could not get their car going. Not a dead battery, not a fob issue. The key had finally given up. Years of use had worn it down to the point where it was no longer reading the lock and ignition reliably. They had been fighting it for a few weeks, and that night it just stopped cooperating entirely.
They called me expecting to hear "sorry, nothing I can do until morning." I was maybe 15 minutes away.
The Civic takes a basic edge-cut key, and I had the right blank already stocked in the van. I decoded the lock on site, cut the key, tested it in the door and the ignition, and they were good to go. No waiting for a dealer to open Monday. No tow. The whole job took less than 30 minutes under a streetlight.
The dad mentioned the dealer had quoted him a trip-in and a wait. He seemed more surprised by the timing than anything else. Friday night, same as Tuesday morning, as long as the van is stocked.
