I got the call around 8:30 on a Saturday night from a woman whose husband was still inside a steakhouse in Simi Valley. His jacket had been taken from the coat check, keys and all, and his 2016 Cadillac XTS was sitting in the parking lot with zero fobs to its name. Cut the emergency blade to match the lock, verified push-button start on both fobs, walked every door handle for touch-unlock response, tested lock, unlock, and the remaining buttons on both. Both fobs working before they brought the check inside.

He drove home that night. The stolen fob is dead. The dealer's tow truck never needed to leave the yard.
