A dentist over in the Oakridge Estates area of Simi Valley called me mid-afternoon on a Tuesday. Programming went through OBD using the SPS security access protocol on the BCM. The 20-minute theft deterrent relearn timer is the part you just have to wait out. No shortcut there.
Whole thing, cutting included, wrapped in about 35 minutes. He walked out after his last patient to two working smart keys. His car never left the parking spot and he didn't cancel a single appointment. The dealer route would have cost him a tow and a lost morning on top of the key itself.
