2011 Chrysler 200 Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Over in Oakbrook Plaza in Thousand Oaks, a guy with a 2011 Chrysler 200 called me because his key snapped clean in half inside the driver door lock. Half the blade was jammed in the cylinder, the other half was sitting in his palm. He was at a farm supply store, loading up for the morning, and suddenly he couldn't get into his own car.
I got out there and used a Y160 Lishi to extract the broken piece without chewing up the lock wafers. Once it slid out clean, I decoded the lock right there on the door. His car runs a remote head key with the OHT692427AA remote and an ID46 transponder chip, so the remote portion on his keychain was still working fine. I just needed a new blade with a fresh chip.
Cut the Y170 blank off my decode readings, seated the PCF7941 chip, pulled the 4-digit PIN from the SKIM module through the OBD port, and ran the security learn cycle. One pass, chip accepted, engine turned over.
He stood there watching the whole thing with his arms crossed, like he was waiting for something to go wrong. When it started, he just uncrossed his arms and said "huh."
Under an hour from phone call to him pulling out of the lot. The dealer would have meant a tow and days without the car. A snapped key at a feed store is one of the simpler calls I run.
