Got a call from a caterer parked behind a banquet hall along Thousand Oaks Boulevard. She had a van full of trays for an event starting in about three hours, and her 2013 Chrysler 200's remote head key had just quit turning in the ignition.
She said it had been getting sticky all week. That morning, the key went in but wouldn't rotate past ACC. The WIN (Wireless Ignition Node, Chrysler's name for the electronic ignition module on these JS-platform cars) wasn't recognizing the transponder signal anymore. She couldn't leave the food baking in the van, couldn't unload without AC running, and a tow plus dealer visit would have eaten her whole afternoon.
I was at the hall in about 25 minutes. Used a Y171 Lishi to decode the wafers and verify the bitting against the original blade. Connected to the OBD port, pulled the 4-digit PIN from the SKIM, and programmed a new OHT692427AA remote head key with a fresh HITAG2 chip. Tested all six buttons, cycled the ignition three times, confirmed the immobilizer handshake was clean. About 30 minutes start to finish.
She was unloading trays before I even packed up. The whole thing cost a fraction of what the dealer route would have been, and nobody had to figure out what to do with a van full of warm food.
