A guy near Gardens of the World in Thousand Oaks had his 2015 Chrysler 200 sitting at an RV storage lot for months. Snowbird. He found my YouTube channel before he ever needed a locksmith, watched me do a Chrysler proximity key job on a real car, and saved my number.
When he finally came back to town, the 200 was dead. Battery in the car, dead. Battery in the fob, dead. Two dead batteries and a guy standing next to a storage gate with no plan B.
I jumped the car first. Then I opened the fob on the hood so he could see inside. The CR2032 had a white ring of corrosion around the edge, and one of the board contacts had a slight green tint. Cleaned the contact, dropped in a fresh CR2032, and the passive entry woke right up.
But that wasn't the whole call. He wanted a spare programmed. I used my diagnostic tool to access the RF Hub, pulled the key data, and registered a new 68155687 proximity key. Cut the emergency blade from the door code. Tested passive unlock on both front doors, the trunk button, remote start, and did three clean push-button starts from cold.
He told me he liked that the job looked exactly like the videos. Same guy, same tools, same process. No surprises.
