2000 Honda S2000 Metal Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A woman near Rincon Point called about a spare key for her 2000 Honda S2000. She told me upfront she had verified my license before dialing.
A previous locksmith she'd used on a different car turned out to be unlicensed, and she only found that out after the job when the receipt had no company name, no working phone number, and no license number anywhere on it. She wasn't going through that again.
The S2000 is a two-seat roadster, so I pulled my van up in the shade and got to work on the hood. The key on this generation is a transponder turn-key, no remote functions, no buttons. Just a blade and a chip in the head. Getting the cut right and getting the chip properly enrolled to the immobilizer is the whole job.
She watched the whole thing. Asked good questions. When I handed her the finished key and she turned it over a few times before trying it, she said something I hear pretty often: that just seeing a van with a company name, a license number on the paperwork, and a real receipt made her feel like she was dealing with an actual business.
She saved a solid amount compared to the dealer quote she'd gotten over the phone. That part almost felt secondary by then.
