Tested all four buttons on the remote head key, cycled the ignition three times, locked and unlocked from 20 feet. Everything clean.

He went from tow truck quotes and a week-long dealer hold to driving the car in about 35 minutes. For a fraction of what the dealer route would have cost him, and that is before factoring in the tow.
