2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Got a call from a guy over in Mission San Buenaventura in Ventura. His 2007 E350 had one key left and the remote buttons had stopped responding weeks ago. He had been locking the doors with the blade and walking away, which meant the alarm would sometimes go off on him when he came back because the car never saw a valid remote signal on approach.
He tried replacing the CR2025 in the fob himself. Buttons still dead. So he figured the whole key was toast and started calling around.
When I got there, I popped the key open on his trunk lid. The CR2025 he put in was fine, but one of the battery terminals had corrosion built up under it. Green crust, barely visible unless you tilted it. Cleaned the contacts, reassembled, and the remote came back to life immediately. Lock, unlock, trunk, panic. All four buttons working.
But he still needed that second key, which was the real reason for the call. I read the EIS through OBD, cut a new blade on my HPC machine to match his door lock, programmed the IYZ-3312 remote head key, and registered the transponder to his FBS3 module. Tested both keys on ignition, doors, and remote range.
He stood there holding both keys like he forgot what it was like to have a spare. Said he had been putting it off for over a year because the dealer quoted him something painful and a multi-week wait for the key to ship from Germany.
Whole visit took about 35 minutes. He drove off with two working keys and no alarm surprises.
