2004 Porsche Cayenne Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Up near Cold Spring Trail in Montecito, a retired guy flagged me down at his gated driveway. His 2004 Cayenne's fob, the car-shaped housing with the flip-out HU66 blade, had cracked right at the nose from landing on stone pavers. The emergency blade was rattling loose inside the shell. Everything cosmetically wrong, nothing electronically dead.
He told me the Porsche dealer said the only path was a brand new key, programmed and cut. What they skipped mentioning was that his KESSY module still recognized the fob every time he pressed the broken halves together. The board inside was fine. The Megamos 48 chip was fine. The buttons were fine.
I set up on his hood. Used the ACDP to read the KESSY EEPROM first, just a safety backup of the immobilizer data before touching anything. Then I moved his working circuit board and transponder into a fresh aftermarket car-shaped housing, seated a new CR2032 battery, and reassembled with the HU66 blade locked in properly.
Tested every function one at a time. Lock, unlock, trunk release, panic, proximity detection at each door handle, push-button start, Keyless-Go walk-away lock. All good.
He stood there watching the doors lock on walk-away like he was seeing it for the first time. His fob just needed a new shell. He kept the same electronics, same programming, same blade, for a fraction of what they wanted at the dealer.
