A Porsche collector near the Santa Paula Art Museum had me out on a Saturday afternoon. He owns several Porsches and has always gone to the dealer for key work. Every single time. His assumption was that nobody else had the tooling for these cars, which was fair enough about fifteen years ago but not anymore.

The dealer had quoted him a VIN-cut key shipped from Germany, a multi-week wait, then a programming appointment on a weekday. He drives the car daily and did not want to be without it.
I met him at his garage. Pulled up the KESSY module through the OBD port, read the immobilizer data, and generated the correct Hitag Pro transponder profile onto a blank using my VVDI Key Tool. Cut the blade on site to match his door and ignition. The whole thing, programming and cutting and testing every lock plus the ignition start cycle, took about 40 minutes.
He stood there watching me test the doors and start the engine, arms crossed, like he was waiting for something to go wrong.
Nothing went wrong. He got a working spare key, made on a Saturday, in his own garage, for a fraction of what the dealer wanted.
