2019 Porsche Cayenne
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

Q: How long does the key cutting take once you are at my car?

For a mechanical key, the on-site time is short. Decoding or code-cutting the blade and testing it in the door and ignition typically runs under an hour. There is no programming sequence, no countdown timer, no module work. The job is cut, test, done. All-keys-lost takes a little longer because I need to decode the lock itself rather than read an existing key, but it is still a single visit.

Q: Can you get me a key faster than the dealer?

Yes. The dealer path on a Porsche often starts with sourcing a VIN-specific blank, scheduling a service appointment, and waiting for availability. For the 2019 Cayenne with a mechanical key, I show up with blanks and cutting equipment. No parts order, no back-and-forth scheduling. One visit, one working key. Most owners in Santa Paula are back to normal the same day they call.

Q: My 2019 Cayenne came with one key and I never got a spare. Is it too late to get one cut?

Not too late at all, and it is worth doing before you need it. Plenty of Cayenne owners come to me after losing their only key, which turns a simple job into a more involved one. Cutting a spare from your existing key is the easiest version of this work. Bring the original, I decode or copy the cut, and you leave with a backup. That costs less time and money than a parking lot at 9pm.

Q: I bought a key blank online. Can you just cut it?

Depends on the blank. If it matches the correct keyway profile for your Cayenne, yes. If it does not, cutting it will not produce a key that works in your locks or ignition. Bring it along and I will check the blank before I cut anything. If it is wrong, I carry blanks with me. Either way, you are not stuck.

2019 Porsche Cayenne Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A Porsche collector over in the East Area 2 part of Santa Paula called me on a Saturday. He had a 2019 Cayenne and wanted a spare key cut before a road trip the following weekend. He owns several Porsches and his default move, for every one of them, had always been the dealer. His words were something like: "I figured nobody else could handle a Porsche."

I pulled up to his garage that afternoon. He walked me around the collection while I set up, which was a decent way to spend a Saturday. The 2019 Cayenne was the daily driver, the one that actually got used.

The job itself was clean. I decoded the existing key and cut a new blade to match. Tested it in the door cylinder and the ignition. Turned smooth both ways, first try.

He kept waiting for the complicated part. There was no complicated part. He paid a fraction of what the dealer would have charged and had a working spare in his hand before sundown.

He mentioned his other cars on the way out. I told him to call whenever he was ready.

Porsche Cayenne Mobile Service FAQ

Real costs, no dealer surprises

What if I need a Cayenne key cut after hours or on the weekend?▼

Call us. Porsche dealer service departments run standard business hours, and if you are stuck on a Friday evening or a Sunday morning in Santa Paula, a weekday appointment does not help you right now. Porsche Roadside Assistance covers towing and lockouts but does not cut keys on site. For a mechanical key job like the 2019 Cayenne, there is no programming window or module read required, so the job is not chained to a dealer bay.
