Got a call from a guy near Manning Park in Montecito. He had a 2009 Porsche Cayenne sitting in a golf course lot with one flip key to its name for the past three years. He finally got around to calling the Porsche dealer about a spare. They told him to bring the car in for a morning appointment, leave it, and they would order the key blank from Germany. Weeks for the part, then a second visit for the cut and programming. He said he hung up somewhere around "second appointment."
I met him at the lot. He was standing by the car, still in golf shoes, eating a sandwich off a napkin on the hood.
I decoded his door lock with an HU66 Lishi, which reads the wafer positions inside the VAG keyway without pulling the lock apart. Cut the KR55WK45022 flip key on site, programmed the ID46 transponder and remote through OBD using the Kessy module, and tested the lock, unlock, and trunk buttons plus the ignition cycle.
About 40 minutes. He watched the whole thing and kept asking questions about the Lishi tool. I think the tool impressed him more than the key.
He drove off with two working keys for a fraction of what the dealer route would have cost him, and he never left the parking lot.
