2011 Porsche Cayenne Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Got a call from a guy in Santa Paula, over in the Main Street corridor, standing in his gated driveway with a 2011 Cayenne and a smart fob in two pieces. He'd dropped it on the stone walkway and the car-shaped housing cracked right at the nose. The emergency HU66 blade was rattling around loose inside.
He'd already called the Porsche dealer. They told him the only option was a brand new key, cut and programmed. Didn't ask a single question about whether the electronics still worked. Just quoted the full replacement.
But here's the thing. When he held the cracked fob together with his thumb, the KESSY module still saw it. Dash said nothing wrong. Push to start worked. Every button worked. The internals were fine. He just needed a shell.
I drove out, opened the broken housing on his hood, and used my ACDP to read the KESSY EEPROM as a backup before touching anything. Then I moved the working circuit board and the CR2032 into a fresh car-shaped housing, seated the HU66 blade properly, and tested every function. Lock, unlock, trunk, panic, Keyless-Go proximity on both front door handles, and push to start.
Everything responded exactly like before. His FCC ID KR55WK50138 fob just needed new plastic, not a new identity. The dealer would have charged him for an entire key replacement when only the shell was broken. He kept his working electronics and saved a good chunk.
