A tournament referee at the soccer fields in East Ventura neighborhood called me on a Saturday between games. His 2015 Ram Promaster was his gear hauler, and the Fobik had cracked right along the seam where the blade pivots out. The SIP22 blade was wobbling, barely catching the wafers in the WIN (Wireless Ignition Node) module when he turned it. Some days it started, some days he had to wiggle it.
The dealer was closed for the weekend. He looked it up and the earliest appointment was the following Thursday.
I met him at the complex. Popped the broken housing open on his tailgate, transferred the electronics and the transponder board into a fresh Fobik shell with a new uncut SIP22 blade. Used my Lishi SIP22 to decode his door lock, cut the blade to match, then programmed through the OBD port. FCC ID RX2TRF198, three-button unit, lock, unlock, panic.
Three clean starts, three clean shutoffs. Doors locked and unlocked from about 30 feet out. He tested the panic button himself, then immediately turned it off and looked around like he'd set off a car alarm in church.
He was back on the field for the 2pm game. The whole thing took about 40 minutes. A dealer would have meant a tow, a wait until Thursday, and a bill that would have stung a lot more.
