A guy parked near the surf access at Surfers Point in Ventura called me on a Saturday afternoon. He volunteers with a veteran support group and uses his 2016 Ram ProMaster to haul equipment for weekend events. The flip fob had stopped folding cleanly, the blade was loose at the hinge, and the lock and unlock buttons had gotten flaky to the point where he wasn't sure if the van was actually secured or not.

I swapped the internals into a fresh housing, reseated everything, verified the blade was locked solid in both positions, and then walked every button on the fob with the van running through its responses. Lock, unlock, all three buttons confirmed. Then I drove it out of habit, watching the dash for any warning about key recognition. Nothing.
He made his Sunday run. Dealer appointment stayed on the books but he cancelled it later that week.
