A body shop in Oxnard's Historic District called me on a Thursday afternoon with a problem that was not their fault but had become their headache.
A 2023 ProMaster had come in for front-end collision work. After the repair, someone called a locksmith to sort out a smart key that had gotten wiped during the shop's battery disconnect. That locksmith's tool lost connection during the PIN read. The locksmith left. The van was sitting in the bay, showing a key-not-detected warning, and the shop had a customer calling every two hours asking when their work van would be ready.

I cleared the stored faults through the OBD port, let the system settle, then ran a clean programming sequence from scratch.

Start to finish was about an hour and twenty minutes, most of which was waiting out the timed steps in the sequence. The shop had expected a flatbed, a multi-day dealer queue, and a bill that would have made the repair invoice look modest. They got none of that.
