A renter at his apartment complex near Kearny Mesa called the dealer first. They quoted him $337 for a replacement Transponder Key and told him to tow it in. So I parked at his building and used my B111 Lishi to decode his door lock and read each wafer position for an exact blade cut. His fob, FCC ID , was a 3-button flip key with an ID46 transponder chip inside. I cut the blade and programmed the chip through the OBD port in about 35 minutes.
His total was $148. That covers the key, the cut, the transponder programming, and me driving to his apartment. The dealer wanted $337 plus he would have needed a tow. Same key, same chip, same programming. Different price.
