She was at a taco stand patio in Otay Mesa after a long shift and her bag was gone. Someone had grabbed it off the table with her car keys, wallet, and phone inside. She borrowed the cashier's phone and called the police first, then her sister, then me.
Her 2008 Honda CR-V was in the lot with zero keys. I used my IM608 to access the immobilizer module, wipe the old key data so the stolen key would no longer start the car, and program two new keys from scratch. Her smart key, FCC ID MLBHLIK-1T, was a 3-button proximity fob. I decoded the lock with my Lishi, cut the emergency blade, and had both fobs working before the police called back.
She drove home that night. Total was $185 for two new keys. The dealer estimated $395 plus a tow and a multi-day wait. The stolen key can still physically open the door, but the immobilizer won't let the engine start. She had two fresh keys and the old one was effectively dead to the car.
