I got a call from a parking structure on the Otay Mesa side, over near Ocean View Hills. An ER doctor had just come off a 14-hour shift and his only fob for his 2020 CR-V had gone dark somewhere during it. He was on the fourth floor, completely done, and the car wasn't going anywhere.

Cut the emergency insert key to match his locks while the software was working through its timed sequence. Tested every button. Tested the door handle touch unlock on both front doors. Started the car twice.
The whole job was done before he finished the coffee he'd grabbed from his bag.
He saved a good chunk compared to what the dealer quoted, and that dealer quote didn't account for the fact that the car couldn't even get there. I packed up, he drove home, and I was back on the 905 inside the hour.
