I connected my diagnostic equipment, cleared the old key data out of the immobilizer, and registered two new remote head keys from scratch. Cut the blades to the vehicle, tested every function on both fobs, confirmed the engine started on both keys before I packed up.
She drove home that night. The dealer route would have meant a tow, a week of logistics, and a bill that was several times what she paid me. The part that stuck with me was that she kept apologizing for calling so late, like it was an inconvenience. It was not. This is the job.
