Got a call from a guy over in Heritage Square, Oxnard, parked near the REI. His 2003 BMW Z4, silver, soft top down. He had one working key left and the remote buttons had gone dead on it months ago. He'd been manually locking and unlocking with the blade and just living with it.

I met him on his lunch break. Pulled up with my tools, cut a new HU92 blade to match, and programmed the fresh PCF7935 transponder chip to his EWS3 module through the diagnostic port. Then I opened up his old remote head key, swapped the dead CR2032, cleaned the contacts on the board, and resynced the remote. FCC ID LX8FZV, three buttons, lock, unlock, trunk.
Tested everything on both keys. Engine start, remote lock from 30 feet, unlock, trunk pop. All good.
He stood there holding both keys like he forgot what having a spare felt like. The whole job took under an hour. His car never left that parking spot, and he still had time to eat before heading back to work.
