Over near Proctor Street Plaza in Oxnard, a guy's 2010 STS was sitting in his driveway at about 1:30 in the morning with the push-to-start refusing to see his fob. He had already pulled up flatbed prices on his phone, ready to get it towed to the dealer whenever they opened.

Got there, popped my Smart Pro onto the OBD-II port under the dash, and ran the GM PK3+ all-keys-lost procedure through the BCM. His fob was the 5-button M3N5WY7777A proximity key. The security access cycle on these has a mandatory timed countdown, so there is a short wait built into the process, but it all happens right there in the driveway. No lift. No shop bay.
He stood behind me watching the whole thing on the tool screen. When the STS accepted the fob and the engine turned over, he just kind of stared at the steering wheel for a second. I think he had already mentally committed to a full dealer day.
Walked all four doors for passive entry, tested the trunk release, confirmed remote start. Everything clean. He was back inside his house before 2 AM. The dealer would have meant a tow, a wait until business hours, and a bill for way more than what I charged him on his own driveway.
