Grant Park resident called about her 2021 Discovery. Push-button start worked, but she had to hold the fob against the start button every time. Classic dying battery symptoms.

But here's what actually fixed it: the antenna ring around the start button had a loose connector. Common on these after dashboard work. Reseated the white plug behind the button housing, and suddenly the Discovery could detect the key from anywhere in the cabin again.
She mentioned the dealer quoted her for a whole new smart key plus their diagnostic fee. Would have been a chunk of change for what turned out to be a ten-second connector fix. We tested passive entry on all four doors, the liftgate sensor, remote start, everything. All working like it should.
