I was already parked for the night when the call came in. Downtown Santa Barbara, close to State Street, a strip mall lot, 9:45 on a weeknight. A pharmacy tech finishing a closing shift. She calmed down somewhere in the middle of it, once she could see the process happening in front of her. By the time I was done she was mostly just ready to go home.
She drove home that night. The dealer was closed anyway, and the tow alone would have cost her before she even got to the key.
