2020 Mazda CX-30 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A pharmacy tech called me from a strip mall lot in the Hope Ranch community area of Santa Barbara around 9:45 at night. Closing shift, dark lot, zero keys. Her only fob for the CX-30 was just gone. She had already checked her pockets, gone back through the store, walked the lot with her phone light. Nothing.
She didn't have her registration on her and didn't know what a VIN was. I walked her through it on the phone. Look through the windshield, driver side, bottom of the glass. She found it with her phone flashlight. Then I had her check her insurance app, and the registration was right there.
With the VIN I already knew the key type and had the right WAZSKE11D01 blank prepped before I left. The 2020 CX-30 requires a minimum of two registered fobs to complete an all-keys-lost procedure on the Hitag Pro AES immobilizer. I ran the AKL through the diagnostic port, programmed both fobs, and cut the emergency mechanical inserts under the strip mall parking lights.
She calmed down a lot once she knew I was on my way. By the time I was packing up, she was just sitting in the driver seat with the engine running, staring at the dash like she was waiting for it to change its mind.
She drove home that night. A dealer would have meant a tow and a wait until morning, for way more than what I charged.
