Got a call from a guy out near Pole Creek Trail in Fillmore. His 2011 FJ Cruiser was sitting on the dirt shoulder and he had zero keys. Bought it used with one key, never got a spare made, and that one key disappeared somewhere on the trail.
When I pulled up, the FJ was locked and dusty and he was sitting on the rear bumper just waiting. No drama, just a guy who knew he needed help.
I started with the TOY43 Lishi on the driver door. The FJ Cruiser uses that standard Toyota 10-cut keyway, so the Lishi picks and decodes each wafer position one at a time. Took me about eight minutes to get the full bitting. Cut the blade right there off the van.
The immobilizer side on these is the Toyota 4D-67 system. I connected through the OBD-II port, ran the all-keys-lost procedure to wipe whatever was registered before, and wrote the new transponder to the ECU. The security indicator on the dash cycled, went off, and the engine turned over clean on the first crank.
He sat in the driver seat for a second like he was making sure it was real.
Whole thing, lock decode to running engine, took about 40 minutes. No tow truck, no waiting three days at the dealer, no second trip. Just a new key, made at his truck, in Fillmore.
