A guy camping off a forest road outside Fillmore, near the Fillmore Towne Theatre side of town, had a 2013 FJ Cruiser and zero working keys. He lost his only key somewhere between the campsite and a creek trail. No spare. No cell service at the tent. He hiked to the camp host and borrowed a phone.
When I got out there, the FJ was sitting on a dirt pulloff with the windows up and everything locked. Standard immobilizer job on these, but all-keys-lost on the 4D-67 system means I can't just cut a blade and go. The immo ECU has to be dealt with first.
I pulled the lower dash panel to get to the OBD port and connected my ACDP programmer. Read the immo data off the 93C56 EEPROM on the immo box as a backup, then ran the AKL procedure to clear the old key data and open registration for a new transponder. Cut a fresh TOY44 blade to code on my Condor, programmed the 4D-67 chip, and the engine turned over clean.
He just sat in the driver's seat for a second and let out a breath. That was it. No tow, no flatbed ride back to a dealer in Thousand Oaks, no three-day wait for a key order. Just a guy back on the road from a campground with a working key in his hand.
