2006 Audi A3 Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A piano teacher in the Wagon Wheel neighborhood of Oxnard called me on a Monday morning. She teaches afternoon lessons and drives her kids to school every day, so when her A3 flip key stopped being recognized by the car she was already counting the disruption in lost hours before she even dialed.
She had called the dealer first. They said Friday at the earliest, pending parts availability on the fob. She would need to tow the car in, and they weren't sure they had her exact fob in stock.
I was in the parking lot of the music school off Gonzales Road that same Monday afternoon.
The flip mechanism on her key had been worn for a while. The blade wasn't seating cleanly in the housing, and she'd been forcing it into the ignition slightly cocked. By the time it stopped working, the transponder enrollment had thrown a fit and the car had stopped recognizing it entirely.
I cut a fresh key blade to her vehicle, set the new fob up, ran the immobilizer enrollment through the OBD port, and tested lock, unlock, and ignition start before I closed my bag. Total time on site was under an hour.
She made her first afternoon lesson. The dealer appointment sat on the calendar until she called to cancel it.
