2007 Audi A3 Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I was parked off Gonzales Road in the Wilson area of Oxnard when she walked out of the office building and met me in the lot. She had a 2007 Audi A3 and one very specific question before she even said hello: was I going to hand her a cheap knockoff or something that actually worked.
She had done her homework. She had read forum posts, looked up the factory part number, and was ready to push back if I gave her a sales pitch.
I didn't. I told her the fob housing I use on these is aftermarket, no four-ring logo on the back, but the blade is cut to her lock on my machine and the transponder chip is the correct type that the immobilizer on the A3 expects. Function is the same. I decoded her door lock cylinder to get the cut, then went through the OBD programming sequence. The whole process took about 25 minutes.
She watched the whole thing from two feet away, which is fine by me. When the new flip key unlocked the car and the engine turned over without any security warning on the dash, she nodded like she had just run a test she was prepared to fail me on.
She asked what the dealer would have charged. I told her: way more, plus a tow if the car was stuck somewhere, plus however many days it took for them to schedule it. She said she had already called them. She already knew.
