2012 Audi A3 Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A woman who teaches piano at a school near South Winds in Oxnard called on a Monday morning. She had snapped her only A3 key in the ignition cylinder the night before. The blade tip was stuck inside, the rest of the key was in her hand, and she had afternoon lessons starting at three.
She had already called an Audi dealer. They told her they would need the car there in person, they would have to verify the key code against the VIN, and the earliest they could look at it was Thursday. She asked about a rental. They gave her a number to call. That was the conversation.
I was at the lot off South Winds before noon. First order of business was the broken tip in the cylinder. I extracted it without pulling the cylinder off the column, which keeps the whole job clean and fast. Then I decoded the lock, cut a new blade to match, and tested it in the door and the ignition. Turned smooth on the first try.
She made her three o'clock lesson. The dealer never came up again after I handed her the key.
