2015 Audi A3 Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
In Victoria Estates, on a July afternoon, I got a call from someone whose voice was already doing the math on a ruined day.
She had a 2015 Audi A3 locked in a parking lot near the flower shop. Inside the car: a full wedding floral order, peonies and garden roses, windows up, AC off, clock ticking. She had about an hour before the arrangements were gone. She had already called the Audi dealer. Earliest appointment was the following afternoon. She called me next.
I was twenty minutes out. I told her to stay in the shade and I would call when I pulled up.
Getting into the car came first. AC on, doors open, flowers breathing again. Then I looked at the fob. The CR2032 had leaked inside the housing, and the corrosion had taken out one of the internal contacts. The fob was not coming back from that. It needed a full replacement, not a battery swap.
I plugged into the OBD port, ran the immobilizer read, and got the car ready to accept a new key. Cut the blade to match, programmed the replacement fob, tested lock and unlock from the exterior, tested the flip blade in the ignition, walked the whole thing.
From her phone call to the engine running: forty-three minutes. The flowers made it to the venue. The dealer would have been the next afternoon, and that order would have been a total loss.
She mentioned the price difference only at the end, almost as an afterthought. The dealer quote was nearly double what she paid me. But I think she would have paid anything to not watch a three-thousand-dollar floral order wilt in a hot car.
