I got the call on a Saturday morning from a guy parked near Stearns Wharf. He'd driven down to the Santa Barbara waterfront the night before, walked the pier, had dinner, and somewhere between the restaurant and the water his fob disappeared. Checked his jacket pockets, the car, retraced the whole walk. Nothing.

I got there, picked the door without touching the paint, and used my decode tool to read every cut position off the lock. From that I cut a fresh blade and built out the new smart fob. Then I plugged into the OBD port and ran the all-keys-lost procedure, which wipes the old fob from the system entirely and registers the new one clean. That step matters. A lost fob that's still enrolled is a security problem, and clearing it is part of the job, not an add-on.
The XT5 started. He asked if we could do a second key right then. We did. He left with two working fobs, standing on the waterfront in about fifty minutes total.
He mentioned the dealer's name almost as an afterthought. Monday appointment, tow because he had no working key to drive it, multi-day wait, and a parts order. He saved a significant chunk and didn't lose his weekend.
