A guy came to me over by Hollywood Beach on a Tuesday morning. His 2001 Neon had been sitting in the driveway for three days. He had one key, it snapped off at the bow, and the blade was still stuck in the ignition. He had dug at it with a flathead and made things worse.

I always test three cold starts before I call a transponder job done. Not two. Three. Intermittent issues on these older immobilizer systems sometimes only show themselves after the key sits for a few minutes. Third start fired clean and I was on the road to the next call.
