Out near Apricot Lane Farms in Moorpark, a woman needed a spare key for her 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe. Before she even told me the vehicle, she told me she'd looked up my BSIS license, LCO 6792, on the state website. Her last locksmith had no license at all. No company name on the receipt, no license number, and a phone number that went dead a week later.

I pulled up to her car and got to work. The 2004 Santa Fe runs a Philips ID46 transponder chip, and the immobilizer module on these is the Smartra unit mounted near the ignition cylinder. My NASTF certification gives me access to factory security data for Hyundai through authorized channels, which means I pull the immobilizer PIN the right way, not through a workaround that can leave fault codes sitting in the Smartra.
Cut the key blade to her HYN12 profile, seated the ID46 chip, read the PIN through the OBD-II port with my ACDP, and programmed the transponder in a few minutes. Then paired the OSLOKA-22201T remote, all three buttons: lock, unlock, panic. Tested everything twice.
She watched the whole thing from about two feet away. When the car started clean on the new key, she just nodded like she'd been holding her breath.
