2006 Hyundai Santa Fe Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Peach Hill, Moorpark. A guy called me about his 2006 Santa Fe on a Saturday morning. He was parked in his own driveway but couldn't get the doors to respond from the fob. Key still turned, car still ran, but the remote was dead. He'd already swapped the CR2032 twice - different brands from two different stores - and nothing changed.
I asked him if both batteries came from the same checkout display. He paused. They had.

When I got there and opened the fob, the battery contacts had a faint white film on them. Oxidation from a slow leak on the previous battery. The new cells were making inconsistent contact. I cleaned the contacts, seated a fresh CR2032 I carry in my kit, and the fob came back on all three buttons.
Then I walked every button with him watching. Lock, unlock, the third function. Confirmed the range was normal at about 30 feet. That was the job.
He mentioned the dealer had told him he'd need a whole new fob programmed. I didn't say much about that. Sometimes the fix is just cleaning what's already there.
