2010 Hyundai Santa Fe Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I was out in South Bank, Oxnard, on what looked like a simple battery swap call. Owner had a 2010 Santa Fe and the fob had gone quiet. No lock, no unlock, nothing from about ten feet away.

She had already swapped the battery herself. Twice. Different batteries from two different stores. Still nothing.

I popped the fob open on the hood of my van. The CR2032 she had in there was fine. The problem was the battery tray. There was a thin ring of corrosion on one of the contact points, the kind that builds up slowly and then one day just kills conductivity. Took maybe three minutes to clean, reseat the battery, and close the fob back up.

Then I walked the car. Tested all three buttons at close range, then at normal distance, then across the parking area. Lock, unlock, and the third button all came back clean.

She asked if the fob was going to hold up or if she needed a new one. Housing was solid, no cracks, buttons still had good feel. I told her honestly, this one is fine. If it starts acting up again, we have options, but right now it's doing its job.

The dealer never entered the conversation. It didn't need to.
