2023 Hyundai Santa Fe
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I was coming up from Rose Park when the call came in. Guy had one key for his 2023 Santa Fe, no spare, and somewhere between the water and the parking lot near Oxnard it was gone. He'd checked everywhere. Retraced the whole path. Nothing. He was stuck next to his car with no way in and no backup.

I told him I'd be there that afternoon.

Getting into the car without a working fob on a 2023 Santa Fe means going for the mechanical emergency key tucked inside the fob body. Once he confirmed he didn't have the fob at all, I used my tools to decode the lock directly and get the door open. From there I pulled the blade dimensions off the lock itself.

Then came the OBD connection and the all-keys-lost procedure. On these newer Santa Fes that process takes time. The system has a built-in delay during the security relearn, so you're not rushing it. I let it run, registered the new fob, cut the blade to the decoded dimensions, and tested every function before I packed up. He asked about a spare on the spot, which was the right call. I made him one while I was already connected.

The car started in the same lot he'd been stranded in. He mentioned the dealer wanted him to tow it in and wait several days on top of the parts and labor charges. We handled it in about 45 minutes, at his location, for a fraction of what they wanted.
