Over at Marine Emporium Landing in Oxnard, a woman was sitting on a bench near the water holding two pieces of her only smart key. The shell had cracked along the seam weeks ago, and she had been babying it. That morning the emergency blade snapped off inside the driver door lock when she tried manual entry. Fob housing in one hand, blade stuck in the cylinder. Zero working keys.

I pulled the blade fragment out of the lock cylinder first. Then I opened the cracked fob on my tailgate where she could see. The PCF7952 chip and the board inside were still good, no corrosion, no damage. That meant I could skip a full all-keys-lost immobilizer reset and save her a lot of time.
I transferred the chip and circuit board into a new SY5DMFNA04 shell, decoded the lock, and cut two fresh emergency blades. Ran the VVDI2 through the OBD port to confirm the fob registered clean. Then I tested every button, both doors, the hatch, and push-button start from both front seats.
She went from zero working keys to two in about 40 minutes. The salvageable chip inside that cracked housing is what made it quick. If your Hyundai fob is cracked but still in one piece, bring it. That chip is almost always still alive.
