Over in the Madera Road shopping area in Simi Valley, a mom with an infant in the car seat called me on a weekday evening. She had stepped away for thirty seconds to return a cart. Came back and the 2004 G35 fob would not unlock the doors. Baby strapped inside, visible through the glass, car locked.

One of the common flex cracks near the battery terminal pad that these Nissan/Infiniti boards develop over time.
I used my VVDI2 to pull the transponder data off the dead fob's chip and write it to a new unit, which meant I could skip a full all-keys-lost reset through the BCM. Built the replacement KBRTN001, cut the emergency insert blade to NSN14 profile, and programmed it through the OBD port right there in the garage. The baby slept through the whole thing in the stroller next to us.
She drove home that night. Some calls are not about price or convenience. That one stays with me.
