Over near Simi Valley Town Center, a retired engineer flagged me down at the luxury car wash. He'd actually seen my YouTube channel before he ever needed help. Watched a Nissan Intelligent Key video and figured the Infiniti process ran on the same NATS platform. He was right.
His 2006 G35 sedan had been throwing intermittent "NO KEY DETECTED" warnings for about two weeks. Some mornings the push-button start worked fine. Other mornings he'd have to hold the fob right against the start button to get it to fire. He tried a new CR2032. Didn't change anything.
I popped the fob open on his trunk lid. The original board inside, marked with the 285E3-AC70D part number, had a hairline crack near one of the battery contact solder points. Every time the fob flexed in his pocket, the connection would break. That's why it worked sometimes and didn't others.
Built him a fresh KBRTN001 fob, cut the emergency insert blade for the driver door, and programmed it through OBD using the BCM PIN extraction on the NATS5 system. Tested all four buttons, ran three clean start cycles, and checked passive entry range from across the wash bay.
He stood there watching the whole thing like he was auditing the process. Engineer brain. I respect that. The whole job took about 35 minutes, and he drove off without a dealer appointment or a tow truck involved.
