I got a call from a guy staying at his cousin's place over in the Samarkand neighborhood of Santa Barbara. He had already been through it once. A previous locksmith had attempted a programming procedure on his 2001 Infiniti I30, done it wrong, and left the immobilizer in a state where it would not accept any key at all, including the original.
