2008 Jaguar XK Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
She was in Midtown Ventura with her college-age daughter when her bag got snatched. Keys, wallet, phone, all of it gone. Her daughter called the police from her own phone, then her dad, then me.
Her 2008 Jaguar XK was sitting at home with zero keys. Her husband had already called the Jaguar dealer. The dealer told him it would be three to five business days, a tow to the shop, and a full key memory reset so the stolen fob could never start the car again. Their quote came in well above what anyone wants to hear after a theft.
I got there that evening. All-keys-lost on this generation of XK means you have to clear the existing key data from the vehicle's key memory module entirely, then enroll fresh fobs from scratch. That's not optional when a key is stolen -- you need the old authorization wiped so the stolen fob is dead to the car. I brought my JLR-capable diagnostic setup, read the module, generated new key data, and wrote it to two new smart fobs. Then I decoded the lock and cut both emergency insert blades to match. Tested everything: remote lock, remote unlock, each button on both fobs, and confirmed both keys started the car.
She drove home that same night with her daughter and two working keys. The stolen fob does nothing to that car now. The dealer wanted multiple days and a tow. We handled it on the driveway before the police report was even finished.
