Her 2010 Kia Sedona was sitting in the lot with zero keys. I connected my IM608 to the OBD-II port, pulled up the Hitag2 immobilizer module, and wiped the entire key memory so the stolen transponder was electronically dead to the van. Then I decoded the HY20 lock, cut two new blades, and programmed both ID46 chips from scratch.
The whole thing took about 40 minutes. She tested both keys, started it twice, locked and unlocked from outside. Then just stood there holding both keys like she was afraid to put them down.
She drove home that night. The stolen key can still physically turn the lock cylinder, but the immobilizer won't let the engine run. That part mattered to her more than anything else I said.
