I was parked off Sandyland Cove Road on a Tuesday afternoon when the call came in. A woman had driven her 2008 MINI Convertible to the beach, locked up, walked down to the water, and came back to a key that would not unlock the doors. Remote was dead. Blade still worked the door lock manually, so she got in, but the car would not start. It just sat there with a key warning on the dash and no response.
She had already called one shop. They told her they could not touch a MINI and suggested she tow it to the dealer in Santa Barbara.

I re-registered the key, verified the blade cut matched the locks, and confirmed the car started clean.
She asked what the dealer would have cost her. I told her to call them and find out for herself. She laughed and said she would take my word for it.
The whole job was done before the beach crowd started heading home for the day.
