A couple summers ago I got a call from someone parked near Rincon Point. She had driven out to watch the surf with the top down, killed the engine, and when she went to leave, the key turned but nothing happened. No crank, no dash activity beyond a key warning light. The car just sat there.
She had tried the obvious stuff already. Pushed the key in harder. Wiggled it. Tried the spare, which she kept in the glovebox. Same result on the spare.
