The call came in on a Saturday afternoon from the Stearns Wharf area. The owner had been down at the waterfront with the top down most of the day and came back to a fob that the car simply wouldn't recognize. Not low battery, not intermittent. The car was just reading nothing.

The button pad was lifting at one corner, and when I popped the housing, the CR2032 was sitting at a slight angle. The contact tab had lost its spring.
