Saturday night near Wildwood Regional Park in Thousand Oaks, a group of friends came out of a Korean BBQ spot to a 2010 Rogue that would not start. The push button just blinked at them. Swapped it, and remote lock and unlock came back instantly. Good range, clean response on all three buttons.
Then I checked push-to-start. First press, the engine turned over. I tested the backup slot behind the center console pocket too, just to confirm the mechanical side was still reading.
The whole thing took about fifteen minutes including the drive. They were expecting to wait until Monday and pay the dealer a lot more for the same answer. Instead they drove home that night.
