2015 Nissan Rogue Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out in Wildwood Canyon in Thousand Oaks, a guy flagged me down at a temple parking lot on a Sunday. His 2015 Nissan Rogue had already been touched by another locksmith. Paid full price, got a new smart key cut and supposedly programmed. The car would crank for about two seconds, then the NATS immobilizer killed fuel injection and it died. The other tech told him the BCM was bad and left.
The BCM was fine. The previous tech hadn't completed the full NATS6 security registration. Nissan's system requires a timed handshake through the BCM, and if you rush it or interrupt the countdown, the key data lands in temporary memory but never writes permanently. Next power cycle, the car sees an unregistered key and cuts fuel.
I ran my NSN14 Lishi on the emergency blade slot to confirm the mechanical cut was good. Then I connected through OBD with my IM608, cleared the half-written key data, and ran a clean IMMO learn from scratch with the full security timer. His KR5S180144106 fob came back with all four buttons responding, push-button start with no fuel cutoff, and I showed him the confirmed registration on my screen so he could see it himself.
He'd already paid the first guy, and I couldn't undo that. But at least the car worked now, and the whole visit took about 25 minutes on site.
