Out in Ormond Beach, a guy called me about his 2000 Jetta. He was an organic farmer working a stretch of property outside Oxnard, and the nearest VW dealer was over an hour away in either direction. He had one key left, and it was worn down to the point where it was getting sticky in the ignition. He didn't want to wait until it snapped off inside the cylinder.

The remote side gets synced separately. I ran through all four buttons on both keys before I called it done.
He stood there watching the whole thing. When both keys turned the ignition and the remote locked and unlocked the doors clean, he just nodded like he'd expected it but was quietly relieved. He saved a good chunk compared to what the dealer quoted, and he never had to move the car off the property.
That's the job. Nothing dramatic. Just two working keys before I drove back out toward the coast.
